Jessie’s Critter Carousel has soft opened, Pixar Pier continues to see enhancements, Project Stardust continues to seal up and reopen portions around the park with wider walkways and smaller planters, plus a very colorful peek at the new color scheme for Sleeping Beauty Castle. Mickey’s PhilharMagic debuted 16 years ago at Magic Kingdom blending Disney characters (many for the first time in CGI) and now that show is coming to Disney California Adventure. It has been duplicated at other Disney properties before including Hong Kong Disneyland, Tokyo Disneyland, and Disneyland Paris.

Pixar Pals Parking Structure
We have a name for the new structure at Mickey and Friends and it’s called Pixar Pals. A bunch of new changes are coming to parking including an expansion of the Toy Story Parking Lot.

We already knew Spider-Man was coming to both Disney California Adventure park at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney Studios park at Disneyland Paris and we recently got some more details about the upcoming expansion!

The latest addition to Pixar Pier soft opened a little ahead of schedule returning a simple attraction to the land.

Jessie’s Critter Carousel isn’t the only on-going progress in Pixar Pier environs.
Silly Symphony Swings are under refurbishment.
INSIDE OUT: EMOTIONAL WHIRLWIND is starting to come along.
The new Marvel-themed land is coming along. Expect to see Spider-Man ’round these parts in a few years.
The bathrooms are about the only structure that remains from the original “a bug’s land.” The facade still has the tissue box decor.
Grizzly River Run has reopened although it was down Saturday morning.

Red Car Trolley is officially on hiatus for quite a while as preparations for the new Marvel-themed land are underway. Meanwhile, it seems like some Pym particles have been in use or maybe it’s just our imagination.

Project Stardust continues to enhance Sleeping Beauty Castle.
Walls have been pushed out to the street where curb re-slopping is taking place.
Walkways on either side of the castle have reopened.
The new rockwork is decidedly PURPLE. Make that blue. Make it pink. Well, you get the idea. It’s hard to convey the colors in these photos so there’s a few to cross compare.
Part of the Peter Pan’s Flight queue has been eaten up by the construction walls.

The new dedicated security entrance on the Eastern Esplanade has finally been completed and should hopefully make arrivals on this side much easier.

Explore Early?
The public won’t get their chance to explore Galaxy’s Edge until June when the new land opens at Disneyland (and then again later in the year a clone of the land opens in Walt Disney World) but Marvel is ready to take you to the planet of Batuu — and specifically the Black Spire.

It’s no secret that the Star Was: Galaxy’s Edge expansion (or unofficially Star Wars Land for the uninitiated) will be an incredible undertaking when it lands at both Disneyland Park in Anaheim and Disney’s Hollywood Studios Park at Walt Disney World and now we have more info than ever before about the impressive new undertaking opening as early as this summer in California and later this year in Florida!
