#SDCC: Outside of San Diego Comic-Con 2019, there’s a whole world of fandom to discover!
San Diego Comic-Con is so big that every year it overflows out of the Convention Center and into the surrounding streets, hotels, and empty spaces beyond it to create the ultimate nerd fest for fandoms of all types. For the 2019 season, it was no different with huge activations this year from Amazon Prime Video and the regular suspects including FX, South Park, and more plus the huge Interactive Zone at Petco Park and much, much more!
Take a look now at just a taste of all the things OUTSIDE of San Diego Comic-Con that were available this year.
Amazon Prime Video
The 60,000 square-foot immersive activation was the place to be this convention as it played host to three celeb-filled parties, with notable appearances from Orlando Bloom, Cara Delevingne and Chase Crawford – who was even surprised with a birthday cake at the The Boys screening premiere.
The Tower and Screening Area
A 40-foot tower adorned with giant LED screens played scenes from The Boys, Carnival Row and The Expanse. There were also show-specific performances taking place atop the multi-level tower with battles and more taking place all around it its multiple levels.
Attendees receive collectible gold and silver coins which they can use to explore the activation and get treats like churros!
The Carnival Row universe was fully built inside, a world in which humans and exotic creatures coexist before entering The Forbidden Lounge, a neo-Victorian decorated hideaway venue, to enjoy a special performance.
Fans of the show can help cover up the crime scene of a superhero kidnapping at the Audio Visual shop where Hughie works on The Boys.
A Rocinante spaceship is positioned to will take adventure-seekers on a United Nations peacekeeping mission to a newly colonized planet seen in The Expanse.
Interactive Zone at Petco Park
Ripley’s Believe it or Not
Inflatable tube men, human car washes, and a pinball arcade — the Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Car Lot showcased some of the strangest vehicles money can buy — from the world’s smallest street legal car to a Landspeeder and Hummer made out of lottery tickets — lot owner LeRoy has a curious car for you. You can step into LeRoy’s office andsnap a photo as a souvenir of searching for the strangest sedan or station wagon of your dreams!

FX Fearless Forum
FX Fearless Forum featuring an American Horror Story: 1984 – Face the Darkness activation by Creative Riff, along with a What We Do in the Shadows Lair, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia Sunscreen Zone, the Archer O2Station, and a stunning nightly projection stunt from BARTKRESA studio and FX design.

Chilladelphia Winter Carnival – Shazaam!
Chilladelphia Winter Carnival in sunny San Diego is a familiar sight from the blockbuster film Shazam! where guests played games to win exclusive prizes and pose for some fun photo ops.
Experience the magic of Ryme City in an immersive walk-through pop-up based on the hit film Pokémon Detective Pikachu.
