OSCAR TIME! Disney gets 23 #OscarNoms for 92nd annual event

The 92nd Academy Awards are nearly upon us and Disney this year has earned itself 23 nominations — 10 of those were straight from the House of Mouse including Disey, Pixar, Lucasfilm, and Marvel. Last year, BLACK PANTHER brought home its weight in Oscar gold with three wins plus Animated Short “Bao.

Oscar Noms for Disney Releases

Disney proper earned a total of 10 nominations for the 2020 Oscars.


  • Toy Story 4 — Josh Cooley, Mark Nielsen and Jonas Rivera


  • Kitbull — Rosana Sullivan and Kathryn Hendrickson


  • Avengers: Endgame — Dan DeLeeuw, Russell Earl, Matt Aitken and Dan Sudick
  • The Lion King — Robert Legato, Adam Valdez, Andrew R. Jones and Elliot Newman
  • Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker — Roger Guyett, Neal Scanlan, Patrick Tubach and Dominic Tuohy


  • Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker — John Williams


  • “Into The Unknown” from “Frozen II” — Music and Lyric by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez
  • “I Can’t Let You Throw Yourself Away” from “Toy Story 4” — Music and Lyric by Randy Newman


  • Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker — Matthew Wood and David Acord


  • Maleficent: Mistress of Evil — Paul Gooch, Arjen Tuiten and David White

Disney also inherited a few Oscar nominations due to its acquisitions and distribution including Jojo Rabbit (Best Picture, Actress in a Supporting Role, Costume Design, Film Editing, Production Design, Adapted Screenplay) Ford V Ferrari (Best Picture, Film Editing, Sound Mixing, Sound Editing), “I’m Standing With You” from Breakthrough (Original Song), Ad Astra (Sound Mixing), and The Cave (Documentary – Feature).
